Dr Danka Zebic is a Medical Oncologist who is committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality, evidence-based care to patients, coupled with strong participation in research and clinical trials.  Dr Zebic grew up in the Illawarra and obtained her medical degree from the University of Wollongong in 2011.  She pursued subspecialty training in Medical Oncology at Wollongong and St George Hospitals.  She furthered her expertise as a research medical oncology fellow at the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, focusing on clinical trials with the Australian and New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group (ANZGOG) and Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Cancer Trials Group (ANZUP).

After obtaining Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2023, she commenced locum work at the Illawarra Shoalhaven Cancer Care Centres and continues in her role of Clinical Research Fellow at NHMRC.  Dr Zebic is an active member of the ANZGOG Cervical, Vulval, and Vaginal Tumour Working Group.  She is also currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Sydney; her research focuses on shared disease pathways and biomarkers between cancer and cardiovascular disease to improve patient outcomes and guide future trial designs.

Raised in a Serbian-speaking home in the Illawarra, Dr Zebic is deeply enthusiastic about returning to the Illawarra region and passionate about providing care to patients from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.  In her spare time, Dr Zebic enjoys quality time with her children, family, and friends, and maintains an active lifestyle through exercise in the beautiful coastal and mountainous landscapes that the Illawarra region offers.
