Dr. Udit Nindra

Medical Oncologist

Dr Udit Nindra joined Cancer Services in January 2024 as a staff specialist consultant is is completing his PhD through the Ingham Institute of Applied Medical Research focusing on liquid biopsy biomarkers of response to prostate cancer therapies.  Udit is part of a research team lead by Associate Professor Tara Roberts who were awarded a $1.5M grant for this research through the NHMRC in 2023.

Udit is also the current consultant chair of the Medical Oncology Advanced Trainee Committee for NSW and has led training improvement initiatives at a national level.  Recently, he worked with the Medical Oncology Group of Australia (MOGA) to launch the National Oncology Mentorship Program to improve rates of burnout amongst trainees and consultants.

Dr Nindra has a keen interest in lung, head and neck, and brain tumours with a strong focus on clinical trial access for regional and rural patients.  He is part of the Early Phase Clinical Trials team at Wollongong Hospital which is aiming to expand Phase 1 trial access for patients at our Wollongong and Shoalhaven Cancer Care Centres.
